Your Hand
by Dan Mustain

Where would the church be without dedicated workers?

Ecclesiastes 9:10 says, "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom."  NIV

We are alive for what? To serve the Lord. I’m so thankful that God has put us together as brothers and sisters in Christ at Woodhaven Baptist Deaf Church. God has done this for His glory.

Are you using your hands for the Lord? How can we use our hands? We can use our hands to sign good news about Jesus. We can use our hands to encourage each other. We can use our hands in building the stage for the drama. We can use our hands to write cards and letters that help people feel the love of Jesus. We can use our hands to give comfort to people who are hurting. We can use our hands to call friends on the TTY.

As the verse says, we can do no work or planning from the grave, so get busy and use your hands for the Lord Jesus. Jesus allowed nails to be driven though His hands to prove how much He loves you. Are you thankful for your hands? Are you a dedicated worker? Let’s us work together for the glory of the Lord Jesus. Amen!

“Thelma’s Truths”

Many of us treat God like we do the spare tire in our car. We know it is there, but don’t think about it for months, maybe even years, until we need help, then we expect the spare tire to be aired up and ready to help us in our time of need. We treat God the same way; we ignore him, don’t come to church to worship and honor him, don’t read our Bible, or pray, and yet, when we get in trouble, we immediately call on God to come help us. How much better our lives would be if we faithfully worshiped him in the Lord’s house, and prayed and read our Bibles, witnessing to all we meet about His goodness and love.
