Deaf Women’s Retreat 2008

Our 15th Deaf Women’s Retreat was held at Round Top Retreat, Round Top, TX, March 14-16. Eighty-four ladies met together for a wonderful weekend fellowship. The weather was absolutely beautiful. In the garden, there were flowers starting to bloom and trees showing new leaves. The houses were like Bed 'n' Breakfast rooms. It was a perfect weekend for us ladies to enjoy for ourselves and to meditate with God.

We were all blessed with all the activities...worship, singing, workshops, craft and fellowship. Our workshop leaders this year were Carolyn Dill, Cynthia Lister and Maryellen Sarles. Our theme was “The Frazzled Female.” The book taught us that many Christian women who, in spite of their faith, still feel frazzled; overwhelmed, stressed out, and in need of fresh hope and enthusiasm. Also it helped us to discover that a growing intimacy with Jesus Christ is the key to dealing with all areas of life—including the daily stress that often gets the best of us.

We had free time after Saturday lunch. We had craft, led by Sherry Granillo of Waco. Some of the ladies went to town to sight-see and some sat in the rocking chairs on the porch, just to relax. After dinner, Wendi Coker led a Beth Moore Bible study about Daniel.

Special thanks to our three chefs who took care of the kitchen jobs. They were John Wunsch, Bill Hornbeak and Dennis Prescott.

Start saving your money so you will be able to join us this time next year for our sixteenth year Deaf Women’s Retreat.
